How to get Transcripts from Indian Universities and Abroad
Transcripts is nothing but verification of your educational records like all mark memos and degree/diplomaa cerificates from the respective university/institution like Diploma, UG, PG and etc.., Transcripts is also called attestation of certificates
If you have not yet completed your current degree and/or do not have access to a transcript of your final results, you need to submit an interim/provisional transcript from your institution with details of the grades you have received so far.
An official transcript will often have a signature or stamp to certify it, or be sent through a secure electronic sharing system like Digitary. Self-service screenshots and/or provisional transcripts provided by your institution are also acceptable for as-sessment purposes if they clearly state your name, institution, qualification and grades. A Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) can also be accepted.
If your institution does not issue official transcripts in English, you will need to provide both the official original language version plus a certified translation (signed and stamped by your institution or an official translator).
A degree certificate giving just your name and the qualification you received is not equivalent to a transcript, as it does not include detailed grade information.
Please note that, for graduate applications, we do not require transcripts or marksheets relating to secondary school qualifications.
What happens if I cannot obtain a transcript to support my graduate application?
If you are unable to obtain a transcript, you must instead obtain a formal letter from your former academic institution. This letter should state explicitly why the institution cannot provide a transcript, and should also confirm your course and years of study.
Generally, Transcripts will be in two format:
Consolidated format
After submission of all mark memos and degree/diploma certificate, institution official will verify the documents and they will prepare and issue transcripts in a sealed envelope. It will cover all semester/year wise mark memos in a single sheet and it looks like a consolidated mark memo, but it won’t be containing degree certificate (depends on university), it is also called standard transcripts format.
Attestation format
After submission of all mark memos and degree/diploma certificate, institution official will verify the documents and they will do seal and sign on same photo copies of all documents, it will be issued in a sealed envelope and it will be considered as transcripts. It will cover all semester/year wise mark memos separately and containing degree certificate, it is called attestation format of transcripts.
